Sources and terms

World Elect is published by Webedoc (webedoc.ca). It shows election results as the electoral bodies and the other sources named on this page publish them.

About the results

World Elect is not affiliated with any electoral body or government. A source's licence does not imply its endorsement.

The results come from the official publications of the electoral bodies named beside each map. Where a body publishes under an open licence, that licence is named there and its terms followed. Where it states none, its results are reused as public information: the figures as published, the source named, the changes made to them stated. A body that wants a line corrected, a credit worded otherwise or a map withdrawn writes to contact@webedoc.ca, and it is done.

On election night, the results shown are preliminary, as the source publishes them at that moment. The official results are those the electoral bodies declare.

The data is checked against the official publications, but errors remain possible. The site is provided as is, without warranty. To report an error: contact@webedoc.ca.

The site and its data

The site's code, design and text belong to Webedoc. The data remains its sources', under their licences: each data folder published with the site carries a NOTICE.txt file naming them, and files derived from a share-alike source are shared under the same licence.

Sharing a link to a page or its share card is welcome, with the site's name. Reproducing the pages, the maps as drawn or the site's images on another site or in another product, or presenting its content as one's own, needs Webedoc's written permission. The name World Elect designates this site and is not for another service. Data under an open licence is reused from its source, on that source's terms.
